The April 1, 2011 NMC Breastfeeding Conference, held in Boxborough, MA, was a great success! Featured speakers Christina Smillie, MD, FAAP, IBCLC, FABM and Marsha Walker, RN, IBCLC provided a full day of challenging and informative sessions. Despite the April Fool’s Day snowstorm, nearly 190 breastfeeding professionals and volunteers braved the elements to get to the conference.
One attendee who listed her credentials as IBCLC, birth doula, and childbirth educator said that hearing Dr. Smillie was “lovely, inspiring and made me hungry to learn more.” Another IBCLC in attendance, called Marsha Walker “a delightful, well-informed presenter,” and noted that "She has given me a wealth of new information as well as reaffirmed my practices in working with new mothers.”
